Corollary

Corollary / Compare / Apple Math Notes

Corollary vs Apple Math Notes.

Math Notes, in Apple's Notes and Calculator apps, solves and graphs what you write. Corollary is an iPad app built for people who write mathematics: it turns Apple Pencil handwriting into real, editable LaTeX. Here is where each is better.

Last checked against Apple's iPad User Guide

Does Apple Math Notes export LaTeX?

No. Math Notes evaluates expressions when you write an equals sign, and graphs equations, but Apple's documentation doesn't mention LaTeX. Notes export as PDF or Markdown, or open in Pages. Corollary typesets every handwritten line in LaTeX and exports the page as a .tex file.

Which is better for math?

Choose Math Notes for quick calculations, unit conversions and graphs; it's free and already on your iPad. Choose Corollary if you write proofs and derivations and want them as editable LaTeX, in a .tex file for Overleaf, with notes that Claude and ChatGPT can read and search.
